Japanese Mochi

Now I obviously cannot claim credit for these as they are very blatantly store bought and cellophane packaged. I had tried some real Japanese mochi once when a work-mate of my dads brought him some from Japan, when we were in New York the other day I saw these in an Asian food mart and craved the taste. Of course there is no comparison between this slightly rubbery factory-made mochi to the real stuff but these were decent and although I think the red-bean and sesame one tasted really terrible, I quite liked the peanut flavored ones.
They remind me a bit of Tang Yuan (the balls of glutinous rice filled with similar contents that the Chinese people eat on the moon festival), anyhow, just wanted to share my mochi experience. Hoping to get some rice-seasoning next time I'm up there.
